Description:
The Amara River Cruise is a traditional Myanmar riverboat travelling along the Ayeyarwaddy River. It is made of teak wood and was completely refurbished by local craftsmen in 2003. It is 30 meters /100 feet long and with a shallow draft of 1 meter / 3 feet and two Japan made 180hp Hino engines it can go as far north as Bhamo. The Amara River Cruise has a total of seven cabins, each with their own bathroom with hot and cold shower. Communal areas, bar and canopied sun deck. Electricity is provided by a generator and battery 24 hours a day. Safety is provided by smoke detectors in all cabins, emergency lighting, fire extinguishers, life jackets and a dinghy. Amenities include on-board laundry, fully equipped kitchen and refrigerators. All bed linen and towels as well as dining service and bar equipment are provided. You will be taken care of by our friendly and hospitable staff and be able to relax and enjoy the personal atmosphere on board.

Ayeyarwaddy River- Between Mandalay and Bagan as far South as Pyay and as far North as Bhamo all year round.
Chindwin river- Travel from its confluence with the Ayeyarwady river near Bagan up to Khamti at the foot of the Naga mountains, 500 miles to the North.

Visa: A Valid visa is required to enter Myanmar for all the nationalities. Visa can be apply at the Myanmar Embassies in abroad All the tourist visas are valid for 28 days and cost average of USD 20. Passports must carry a validity of 6 months beyond intended date of departure from Myanmar.
For those who live in the places and countries where the Myanmar Embassies or Consulates are not located, we are able to help you get the pre-approval letter for visa on arrival if you buy the tour services from us. For pre-approval visa it will take about minimum 30 days. After we get the pre-approval letter will email to you with attached file then show this letter to your airline for boarding pass. Things to bring: Light clothes, slippers (please note that you have to take off your shoes at all the pagodas and temples in Myanmar when you enter the compound), a hat for the hot and winter season from November to May and a rain coat or umbrella for rainy season from Jun to October, and the medicines that you usually take for your health.
Health Precausion: No special precausion is required except the normal precausions and treatments you usually have before a trip.

Direction to meeting point: A representative or our guide will meet you at the Yangon International Airport arrival lounge holding a Myanmar Tourex signboard with your name on it.

RESERVATIONS
Reservations are subject to availability and confirmation by Amara Cruises Reservation office.
Deposit
A 25% deposit will be required to hold a reservation.
Cancellation terms
Between 60 and 30 days prior to departure: 25% of contract rate
Between 29 and 15 days prior to departure: 75% of contract rate
Between 14 and day of departure or no show: 100% of contract rate
Important is receiving date of cancellation form.
PAYMENT TERMS
Final balances should be paid 30 days before departure unless a 'Credit Facility' has been approved. Payment failure may be treated as a cancellation and the cancellation charges apply. Full payment of all charges regarding amenities, laundry, extra F&B invoices or extra excursions are to be paid directly on Amara boat.
GUIDE, TOUR LEADER POLICY
Amara Cruises provide quality English speaking Guide; Personal guides must be booked at normal rates in passenger accommodation.
CHILDREN POLICY
Up to 4 years: Complimentary in parent or guardian's cabin;
4-12 Years: if the child stays in parent or guardian's cabin: 50% of the twin-sharing rate.
4-12 Years: If the child stays alone in Single Room: 50% of the Single Use Rate (subject to availability)
MINIMUM OCCUPANCY
For all departures, should the occupancy be less than 3 cabins, Amara Cruises reserve the right to cancel the cruise up to 60 days prior the departure date. A confirmation notice in writing will be released by Amara Cruises to all booked clients and/or their Travel Agents within 60 days before the departure date. In case of cancellation an alternative cruise will be offered and if not acceptable all down payments will be immediately refunded.
