The festival of Ananda pagoda starts on 8th Waxing day of Pyatho (February) and ending on Full Moon Day of Tabodwe (February) for a bout 23-days. It is one of the most popular pagoda festival in Bagan.Bowls of alms filled with crops are offered to monks who all wait in a long line. Pilgrimage and holidays outings on country bullock carts from villages far and near can be seen in addition to the usual stalls selling various commodities.
