Salay (Sale) is an old city and 81 miles far from Magway and 37 miles from Bagan. It is famous for its Yoke_Sone_Monastery built over 120 years ago and is decorated with Myanmar traditional arts and crafts.
Near the Sa-Lei-Yoke-Sone-Monastery, you will find an interesting Buddhist Image called “Shinpin Maha Laba” made of laquer and covered with saw-dust. It has a height of 18 ft and is hallow in the middle. see photos of Salay
