Monlar (Mailar) can be reached from Kyaing Tong by road and on the Chinese border Mong La has been transformed within few years, from a large sleepy village into a booming town. Mong La is a flourishing town where the border trade, especially the tourist industry is booming. Tourist across the border pour in daily to do shopping, see the highly popular elephant circus and crocodile show or just to relax at a pleasant picnic site surrounded by emerald green mountains. Now Mongla has newly erected pagoda a top a high hill with marvelous view of the farms, orchards and rubber plantation of the surrounding country side. This is also alarge Church for the Christian in the areas. There is a freedom of worship in our country even in the remote border town.
