The Mary Chapman School for the deaf is a non-government organization located in Yangon. The school is home to 330 deaf students ranging in age from 5-16 years. Attended by underprivileged children, the school not only teaches basic education and communication but also practical skills that can be used by the students later in life. You will tour the facilities, meet with administrative and/or teaching personnel, and observe the students in their class and activities. There will be time to interact with the students. To help "break the ice" and aid this interaction, you will be provided with materials(such as art supplies and toys). These material will be donated to the school upon your departure.
