Friday - Day 01: Arrival - Putao
Upon arrival at Putao airport you will be met by Putao trekking house's representative and transferred to your guest house. Putao, lies in a flat valley, jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the region's deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains etc. After a brief fresh up we shall take a walk in and around Putao for the orientation. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Putao trekking house.
Saturday - Day 02: Putao - Shangaung - Wasandum (jeep/trek)
Breakfast and we visit attractive Putao market often fills with colorful ethnic minorities. Later we depart by jeep or truck depending on the group size to upper Shangaung with the distance 17 km which takes us about one hour on a rugged road. Shangaung has two separate villages and inhabitant of both Lisu and Rawan tribes. Our adventure starts as we get off the jeep and start trek to Wasandum with the distance 20 km which takes us about 6 hours trek through Mt. Shangaung at 4468 ft, 1362 meters. First 10 km will be straight up along the trail winding up to the top of Mt. Shangaung from then trail goes all the way down to Wasandum. This will be the testing journey for us as we have to ascend from 1060 meters up to 1362 meters and then descend back to 860 meters. Wasandum is a small Rawan village situates by Namro creek. We check in at our guest house and for those who wish to wash up may go to Namro creek to do so with crystal clean water. We shall have our dinner and spend the night at Wasandum guest house in dormitory style.
Sunday - Day 03: Wasandum - Awadum - Kalang - Ziyadum (trek)
Breakfast and we shall leave the village for our today destination at Ziyadum, through relatively flat land with just few of ups and downs. At first we cross Namro creek to Awadum with the distance 7.4 km which takes us about 3 hours. Awadum is mainly inhabited by Lisu and separate in to two by a large paddy field. Here we cross a suspension bridge that spans Namlang creek to Kalang with the distance 4.8 km which should takes us about 1.5 hours. We continue trek to Ziyadum with the distance 6.4 km which takes us about 2 hours through deep evergreen forests. Ziyadum, situate at altitude of 3440 ft, 1048 meters is the most northwestern and last frontier village in Putao region, mainly resident are Rawan tribes. It is recommended to visit Ziya creek for a fantastic sunset view with a blazing snow Mountains in the west which spark in to steady flowing Ziya creek. We have our dinner and spend the night at Ziyadum guest house in dormitory style.
Monday - Day 04: Ziyadum (trek)
Breakfast and we relax through the day. We may simply sit by the Ziya river and enjoy the mountain views, listen to the birds call, fishing iced-water fish in the river or we shall take a day return trip to Chaungzone with the distance 9.6 km, which should takes us about 3 hours through deep evergreen forest with plenty of bird life. Here we shall have an opportunity of social interact with local hunters, medicinal plants and roots seekers etc on the way. Afternoon we return back to Ziyadum. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Ziyadum guest house.
Tuesday - Day 05: Ziyadum - Wasandum (trek)
We shall have another lazy morning as the return journey today is easy and relatively short. After an early lunch we bid farewell to the locals and head back to our today destination, Awadum crossing suspension bridges and through beautiful evergreen avenues. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Wasandum guest house.
Wednesday - Day 06: Wasundum - Shangaung - Putao (trek/jeep)
Having left the wilderness behind and returning to the clutches of human civilization. As soon as we start the trek goes challenging uphill to the plateau of Mt. Shangaung, before continuing rapidly downhill to Shangaung where our jeep meets us and takes us back to Putao. In the evening we go out for a farewell dinner with our fellow group members, including leaders, porters, and commemorate the experience that we've shared for the past week in this unique part of the world. Overnight at Putao trekking house.
Thursday - Day 07: Putao - Machanbaw - Mulashidi - Putao (jeep)
Breakfast and we leaving by jeep to Naungkhine with the distance 22.4 km which should take us about one hour. Here we cross 211 meters long Malikha suspension bridge on foot to Machanbaw, a small administrative town beautifully set up with colonial style. We shall visit this charming town following a visit to so-called "stone dragon" park which should take approx 20 minute walk. We return back to Naungkhine where our jeep awaits us and take us to Mulashidi Lisu village with the distance 35 km which should take about one hour. Here we visit the attractive Lisu settlement and another suspension bridge across Mula river. We enjoy beautiful surrounding often back-drop with snow-capped mountains in distance. Later we return back to Putao and check in at guest house. We shall have our dinner and overnight at Putao trekking house.
Friday - Day 08: Departure
Breakfast and perhaps a last minute shopping at Putao market. Later transfer to airport for your onward departure flight to conclude this unique experience. Should time permit you will visit one of the local villages to observe traditional dance performance of Rawan and Lisu youth and daily life activities by the villagers.

Visa: A valid visa is required to enter Myanmar for all the nationalities. Visa can be apply at the Myanmar Embassies in abroad All the tourist visas are valid for 28 days and cost average of USD 20. Passports must carry a validity of 6 months beyond intended date of departure from Myanmar.
For those who live in the places and countries where the Myanmar Embassies or Consulates are not located, we are able to help you get the pre-approval letter for visa on arrival if you buy the tour services from us. For pre-approval visa it will take about minimum 30 days. After we get the pre-approval letter will email to you with attached file then show this letter to your airline for boarding pass. Things to bring: Light clothes, slippers (please note that you will have to take off your shoes at all the pagodas and temples in Myanmar when you enter the compound), a hat for the hot and winter season from November to May and a rain coat or umbrella for rainy season from Jun to October, and the medicines that you usually take for your health.

| Checklist - The Lishu Trail (Soft Adventure Trekking) |
Baggage:
As general rule when packing for wilderness expeditions keep personal gear to a minimum. Please avoid large framed suitcase as they can be rather cumbersome to porters but use a medium size duffle bag instead. The weight limit on domestic airlines is 20 Kg and only 2 check-in bags and 1 carry on bag are allowed. Excess baggage will be charged at up to US$ 5 per Kg. Your day pack should be a medium volume without a frame which can hold your personal belonging such as medication, camera, extra clothes, water etc.
Clothing:
Should be lightweight, dry quickly, and provide insulation even when wet, synthetic fibre is preferable to cotton. The brushed nylon pants are ideal for trekking. Lightweight long sleeved shirt is useful as sunscreen and leeches protection while trekking. A good quality raincoat and pants are ideal as hey will keep you warm and dry in a variety of situations.
Foot ware:
Lightweight hiking boots or good quality running shoes will be ideal for the lowland trek. For people who do not routinely walk in the mountains, light hiking boots are strongly recommended. It is essential your walking boots be comfortable and broken-in.
Personal items:
Please also bring personal item such as flashlight or headlamp with spare batteries, water bottle and lighter. A pocketknife, reading and writing material and personal first aid kit would also be essential for your convenience.
Protection against insect bite:
Most part the jungle is free from biting insects, but we do encounter plenty of insects in the low land such as sand flies around the river banks and leaches in the lowland bushes. It's important to use insect repellent to keep the insects away. |

Putao - Situate 1499 ft, 457 meters above sea located far north of Myanmar in Kachin State, descendent from eastern Himalayan region. Lies in a flat valley, famous as a jumping-off point for trekkers who want to explore the regionâs deep forests, wildlife sanctuaries and snow-capped mountains. Local tribal communities in Putao region are of Hkamti Shan, Doolin Jimphaw (Kachin), and White color Rawan, Myanmar's gypsy Lisu, Pigmy Tarong, hunting community of Htalu and Tibetan who lives in the far north in the Himalayas.

Ziyadum - situates about 55 kilometers north-west of Putao with an altitude at 3440 ft, 1040 meters. One of the last frontier village in northern Myanmar, beautiful with pristine forests and rivers often cross by suspension bridges. Ziyadum is center points for many mountains in the areas such as Mt. Phonyin, Mt. Ziya, Pangram Razi and Phungam Razi which all are of perennially snow-capped mountains and can be seen as closed as a hand reach away in a clear day.
